Reflective Essay

Introduction:

Some things I have struggled with this semester are getting the info online from a reliable source. An example would the library we use online at UC. I also struggled with putting the essay in third person. Example would not be using I, me, etc. I also seemed to struggle with getting enough information as well. A good example of this would be the online texts being enough for me to summarize. I think these issues were challenging for me because for one thing, my career has the info on the internet for what its worth. I also think maybe I could have found better sources at UC’s online library but stuck with was first popped up because it seemed to be there and enough. I think they have impacted my writing in some type of way. I think I made my points clear and understandable enough to call them my own piece of writing. I think it made a positive impact overall.I might work with these issues by asking the teacher an advance or evening asking for a peers help before I go home and am on my own.I diffidently changed my point in understanding the essays. I now have a clearer view of what kinds of essays there are and what is the norm for each. I also have to say its made me a smarter person. I struggle a lot with piecing the paper together, so I think getting my thoughts out in a organized manner helps a lot. My strengths as a writer are grammatical and spelling and making sure the paper makes sense. These strengths have been shown in this class by my double over look and corrections before handing the paper in.

Rhetorical Analysis

I learned from this assignment was the excitement of learning the basics of writing. I learned a lot more of the English language I didn’t know before and it gave me a great outlook on the professional way to write. Analysis is different from other forms or writing by telling the audience what is acceptable and what is not. Before you begin to write, it explains much of the professional way to write and why is so important doing so. Analysis is important in analysis papers that you do for school, such as the one we wrote about such as, “Clay Model” which just happens to be one of my favorite writings. I think it plays to be a important form of writing in college profession. I struggled a lot with organization on this one. The main was just getting my words to fit in each paragraph to make sense. I made sure that they do. I did really well on my explanation. I was very clear and correct on my thesis and conclusion. I think I did overall very well on this assignment.

Exploratory Essay

From the exploratory essay, I learned a lot more about my profession and salary. The exploration is different from other forms of writing because it gives a good understanding what your profession is and how much money you will be making. What was difficult about the topic was diffidently the research and finding a proper source in the UC’s library. The exploratory essays function in other types of college essays would diffidently be informational. Id say the exploratory also takes part in educational facts too. I struggled with finding the right kind of info in UC’s library. I also struggled with getting the paper to be as long as I want it to be. But hopefully, all went well. I tried by best and that’s what matters. Something I did really well was the organization of the piece. It pieces together perfectly with making sense which is the best  and most important thing.

Research Essay

What I learned from the research essay was information about how to save our oceans. I learned a lot of the unfortunate problems they have to face and what we can do to help clean them up. This was different from other forms of writing by having a problem and solution. It was also different because we had a thesis and conclusion to the paper. It was difficult to find information by the information not being long enough or not up to date and incorrect data to process into writing format. It was difficult to stick with only one position because you wanted to find out more but could only use one side of information from the rest. Some functions research papers play in college would be using a problem and solution outcome to check over your data. They play a good role in using before and after diagrams to check over your work. I struggled with finding the correct info and enough info. What I did really well was the overall quality of my research and am proud to say that I think all went well. This was an interesting piece and overall I think was important.

Multimodal project

From the multimodal perspective, I learned how to piece my info together through a power point presentation. The multi modal project was different from other forms of writing by using a power point and by using photos, videos, and data to support. The media was not hard to find. I struggled with again the information not being enough or incorrect to use. I struggled with getting my power point to 20 slides but managed to do so by breaking up my information little by little. What I think I did well was using photos, videos, and data. There was a certain limit that was required and I made sure I met them.

Conclusion

What I wish I would have done better was putting my papers more up to date in a more organized fashion. After completing this course, I am most proud of my Rhetorical Analysis paper. I am most proud because for me, it was the easiest one and I believe I did a really nice job on it. My assignments reflect those that I face outside this class are for them to be on word press for others to view and see to learn from. I think I will apply this knowledge to future classes by learning all this information and incorporating it in my future English classes on papers and assignments. My advice is that the way to an easy A is really just to complete the work and make sure you are meeting the requirements while doing the work. I thought I earned an amazing A just by doing so myself.
